Initial Situation
Nuand’s engineering and support teams required a unified monitoring workflow across operating systems. Existing options were either OS-limited, hard to maintain, or lacked the real-time responsiveness needed for SDR debugging and field testing.

They needed consistent UI/UX and identical features on all platforms, low-latency streaming for RF samples, and a maintainable codebase that would not create platform-specific divergence over time.

We designed and implemented a cross-platform monitoring application that connects to bladeRF devices, streams RF/telemetry data in real time, and renders charts/logs with a responsive UI. We focused on stable device connectivity, efficient buffering, and modular architecture to keep platform differences minimal.

They approached us with embedded system challenges: their custom cameras needed a robust bootloader, fail-safe recovery, and a user-friendly control interface. We performed U-Boot customization and implemented an auto-recovery system for their camera hardware, and developed a Qt-based cross-platform GUI for camera control. These solutions enabled Inertia to maintain reliable operation in live broadcasts, giving engineers a modern control app and ensuring the cameras reboot or recover smoothly after power faults, just as they needed.
